This book llue Esan Ebe Non Ozeva is the sequel to llue Esan Ebe Non Ohenhen in the provision of study materials for the teaching and learning Esan Language. The general introduction in the first is further developed in this book to the linguistic parameters for acquiring basic skills in learning to read and write Esan Language. The book starts with the Esan Alphabets (Abidi) to the various parts of speech and the construction of sentences in Esan Language. Careful demarcation is made between spoken and written Esan as illustrated in the stories. The book creates a holistic picture of the Esan Language and is therefore recommended for the use of teachers and learners at all levels of Esan Language.
To meet the peculiar needs of readers, especially among the non-indigenes, the book is written in a mixture of English language and Esan language so as to facilitate the study of the language.
The first chapter deals with the Abidi and the associated words in Esan Language. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 deal with vowels, double consonants and nasal sounds. The parts of speech in the language are treated in chapters 5 to 11. Singulars and plurals, synonyms, homonyms and conjugations are discussed in chapters 12 to 14. In chapters, 15-21, phrases, clauses and sentences are analysed. Chapter 22 deals with past, present and future tenses in Esan Language. Chapter 23 contains short stories in Esan Language with accompanying exercises containing questions and answers. We advise continuous use of this book to enable learners of the language to have a good grasp of it at the required level. Thank you.
